PROJECT TYPE: Graphic conception and web development of a dynamic website

Objective: Information, Communication to our members. Promotion towards our partners. Possibility for the user to post/comment content

Targeted Audiences: Secondary School Students, European Stakeholders in Education, members and future members

Message OBESSU's current website provides information and documents to Member Organisations. The objective of the project is to bring Obessu.org into the web 2.0, thus enabling visitors to shape the platform themselves. To this aim, we wish to implement innovative and cutting edge features to the new website such as:
• Video and audio casts
• Newsgroups & discussion forums
• Collaborative editing and netmeeting applications
• Picture Galleries
The website will preferably be developed using open source software and include a easy to use back office for administration and edition (joomla or assimilated).

Perspectives: Develop the site in order to increase participation and interactivity.

Logical and intuitive navigation: possibility to use rollover menus from every page

Structure
Main domain:
• Home page: shows 2 latest newsposts, random picture from gallery, poll (if available) and next event. Must show the logo of our funding partners with link to their website. Link to subdomains

• About: presentation of the organisation, its history, its bodies and staff. Modifiable by Admin only. 4 Pages:
o OBESSU: history of the organisation
o Board: picture + presentation of each person + responsibilities
o Monitoring Committee: picture + presentation of each person + responsibilities
o Staff: picture + presentation of each person + responsibilities

• Members: presentation of member organisations. Online form to be filled in by registered users, moderated by admin

• News: news section. Pages
o News: posts possible by Admin and registered users. Posts commentable by registered users. Moderation by admin, spam filter
o Newsletter (backoffice): newsletter form with email management, editable by admin
o Newsletters: archive of the previous issues of the newsletter.

• Inspiration: Section for registered users to post and share several types of documents / media. Consultable by all users, commentable and editable only by registered users or admin. Pages:
o Photo gallery: different php pages by album. Disclaimer and certification of right to use by the poster.
o Video gallery: streaming video applet/widget. Disclaimer and certification of right to use by the poster.
o Document gallery: Album of pdf, docs, ppt etc. Disclaimer and certification of right to use by the poster.

• Members only: section reserved to members only. Pages
o Registration / Login page: password management, validation of user by admin
o Documents: document download galleries by category
o Forum: consultable by all users, only registered users can post. Spam filter
o Calls: calls for candidature and online response form.
o Netmeeting: online chat + online document edition (facultative)
o Blogs: requested by registered users, admin grants the blog or not.

• Projects / Events: presentation of OBESSU (past/present/future) projects and events. Commentable by registered users, editable by admin. Pages:
o Calendar: Dynamic calendar module with future events
o What we did: presentation of past projects, downloadable reports, pictures, documents.
o What’s next: presentation of future projects, downloadable documents
• Contact: contact details of the organisations
o Contact page address, email, phone, fax and directions to get to the office
o Contact email form

• Links: a page containing logos, short presentation and links to our partner organisations

Graphism
Based on the current layout: basic colors Orange, white and gray.
Animations are optional if the budget permits it.
Must be adaptable to the other websites of OBESSU.

Forum, Emails, newsletter form, video/picture/sound galleries, chat (facultative), polls, spam filter, commenting, blogs.

Maintenance: Training of the Communications Officer on the back office application

Deadline: website must be live within 01/05/2009
