Paul Hanot

I graduated with a Master’s in Press and Information, with a specialization in photojournalism, at the Brussels School of Communication and Journalism (IHECS) in September 2016. During my Master’s, I attended various workshops with professionals and did various internships that allowed me to develop strong multitasking ability in the production of information in all media but also to handle the pace of hot news. All these experiences made me understand that, more than a career, I had found a vocation.

In parallel to my studies, I produced a long-term project on the illegal immigrants’ camp in France. Over two years, I made multiple journeys to the camp, where I slept and lived with the immigrants. This major human adventure taught me to be fully involved in a subject but also to work in hard production conditions.

More recently, I worked on videos and photographic projects in Latin America. The video documentary highlights how the youth of popular neighbourhoods in Colombia can get away from the circle of violence through the creation of cultural projects. Moreover, I did a photographic reportage in Venezuela about the family life of the three social classes in this time of economical and political crisis. These works can show my resourcefulness and my ability to produce images in every situation. I’ll let my portfolio speaking by himself.
